History / Presentation
Gomexco was founded in March 2009 in the aftermath of storm Klaus, which hit the south of France hard, and quickly concentrated its activities in the Landes region, acquiring maritime pine windfall from properties in the Solférino, Roquefort and Mezos areas in particular.
From early spring 2009, Gomexco joined forces with operators in the Landes to make the most of the quality of the windfall. It organises delivery by lorry to local sawmills, dispatch by train to the Vosges and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, and export by ship from the port of Bayonne to Belgium and Germany.
In partnership with key local players in the timber industry, including Cafsa, SMCA and COFOGAR, Gomexco is building up a large stockpile of around 100,000 tonnes of maritime pine left over from storm Klaus at the Darbo factory in Linxe.
